First Impressions Fling.com let\'s you \'search millions of singles and swingers\' so you can meet real people in the area around you and those not so nearby. Upon landing on their home page the site is simple, with some nude photos of members, which look to be member profiles, detailed on the right. A find a fling option appears right at the top and you can search based on what you are and the area you\'re looking in. There are quite a few adult personals sites out there but Fling.com claims to be the best of them. Let\'s see if they\'re any better than those sites that are infamous for being full of \'fake profiles\' -- are they the real deal? Details Fling.com has been online for over 2 years now and appears to have built up quite a following of users. According the most recent numbers, there are over 100,000 females and 1 million males on the site. That means for every one female, there are 10 males on the site, which isn\'t that uncommon, but nor is it particularly good in terms of ratio. You have to keep in mind that you can make a profile for free without answering too many questions or paying a dime, which might distort the true numbers here. It\'s impossible to really tell how many of these profiles are real people, and how many of those real people are serious. As a free member you can make a profile, set your privacy level that allows you to blur your photo, only letting those added to your \'blackbook\', or friends list, to see the full details of your account. Browsing as a free member you can see others profiles but not much, with only a small preview pane to guide you. It won\'t matter too much as a free member cannot contact anyone or show interest. You\'ll have to pay for that. If you do pay, you can then start adding friends to your blackbook, invite people you\'re into to be your friend, and send them instant messages. If you\'re contacting someone else who is a paying member you\'re golden, but if you\'re contacting a free member profile, you\'ll be out of luck. That is unless you upgrade your membership by $10 more a month to be a Gold Member. Then anyone you contact can contact you back, whether they\'re a paying member or not. It\'s nice they give you this option, but it isn\'t very cheap. The site lacks in features overall. The search isn\'t very powerful and doesn\'t have very many bonuses. They do offer some video cam chat, let you manage your blackbook of friends, and a few other small bonuses, but that all comes at the very high price of being a Gold member. Summary Fling.com doesn\'t stand out to me as a scam and does have some basic features that might make it worthwhile. Overall, though, it\'s very expensive for what it offers, especially when you have no way of knowing how many of the profiles on this site are for real. All those scam personal sites out there have given the whole market a black eye, but in my opinion Fling.com does seem to be the real thing. It\'s high price tag and lack of features, however, make me wonder if this site is really worth it.
